Frequently Asked Questions
-
What are your rates?
Currently I charge $200 per hour for my tattoos. You are required to submit a $125 deposit in order to secure your appointment. Your deposit will be deducted from the total price on the day of your appointment. Your deposit is non-refundable and can be held for one reschedule if necessary. If you need to reschedule your appointment more than once you will be asked to pay an additional deposit. If you are receiving a custom tattoo you will be required to submit a $100 deposit as well as an additional $75 drawing fee to accommodate drawing time outside the studio. The drawing fee is not deducted from the total cost of your tattoo.
-
What is the standard for tipping?
Most clients tip anywhere from 15%-30% of the total tattoo price.
That being said, tattoos are pricey these days: I never equate a lower tip to lower gratitude. If you are not able to afford a tip, consider a non-monetary tip such as a handwritten thank-you card, flowers, baked goods, or your artists favorite coffee drink (mine is an oat milk chai just so you know hehe), or artwork you’ve made.
-
What is your policy on numbing cream?
You are more than welcome to use numbing cream for your tattoo with me! That being said numbing agents can greatly affect the process so its courteous to notify your artist before the appointment if intending to use it. Do not wait to apply the cream at our session, most brands take 1-2 hours to take affect and we would not have time to wait.
Be cautious of what brand you buy, many contain unhealthy amounts of lidocaine which is hard on your skin. Read the reviews and shy away from anything that contains more than 5%.
-
How often do your books open?
I’m opening my books on the 2nd of every other month. In order to receive updates on the status of my books you can follow my Instagram (@inkmites) where updates are posted regularly. My custom books open once every 6 months for repeat clientele only. Most of the time the custom openings land on December 2nd and May 2nd.
-
How is the parking near your studio?
There is ample street parking available surrounding my studio. If you’re seeking free parking there is a parking lot next to the studio. Google and Apple Maps will lead you to the parking lot. In my experience, clients are allowed to park there in the day time but if you leave your car there over night you may be towed.
-
Do you do touch-ups?
If its my own work, absolutely! Touch-up appointments are free for any prior clientele of mine as long as you can schedule before 1 year after the initial appointment. I do not touch up tattoos done by other artists.
-
What forms of payment do you take?
I can accept card, cash, Venmo, or Zelle. My personal preference is Zelle or Cash.
-
Can I get one of your designs tattooed by a different artist?
At this point in time I don’t allow other artists to tattoo my designs, so it would be considered plagiarism. If you are not in Portland please shoot me a message about your city and I will add it to my list! I’m always on the lookout for new cities to guest in.
-
Do you tattoo designs multiple times?
Yes! Most all of my pre-drawn flash can be booked for up to 3-5 different times. Custom and freehand designs are only tattooed once.
-
Can I ask for modifications on a flash design?
You are more than welcome to ask for small edits to be made to a flash design. It is courteous to ask in advance to the appointment date via email. I might not accept all modification requests, but it never hurts to ask.
-
Can we break up the tattoo into multiple sessions?
Yes! Always! Im happy to break up a tattoo over the course of multiple small sessions as opposed to one long session.
-
Will you tattoo a replica of a design I find online?
I will not copy a design you find online. Even if you found it on Pinterest, that design was created by another artist somewhere and copying it would be plagiarism.
That being said, if you’d like to send me designs you find online as inspiration for a different but similar design, I would be happy to draw you a custom!
-
Do you tattoo in color?
I will occasionally take on color projects provided that they are in my style/technical capacity. I do not feel comfortable doing large full color tattoos since i haven’t had enough experience in that arena.
-
Can I see what is in your flash book prior to booking?
The contents of the flash book are intended to be a surprise so the client can come in and choose on the day of the session. I understand that this option is only appealing to those who are more spontaneous with their tattoos and/or who like a large body of my work.
Please do not come in for a flash book appointment seeking one particular design you’ve seen from social media. There is no promise that that design will be in the book. You will lose your deposit if you try and break this rule.

How long do tooth gems last?
Most frequently tooth gems will last anywhere from 6 months to 1 year. That being said, sometimes they last even longer. If they don’t pop off naturally with time they can be easily removed by your dentist at your regular tooth cleaning.
